Future of Higher Education – Bologna Process Researchers’ Conference (FOHE – BPRC 2011)

Executive Unit for Financing Higher Education, Research, Development and Innovation (UEFISCDI) held on 17-19 October 2011, in Bucharest, international conference "Future of Higher Education - Bologna Process Researchers' Conference (FOHE - BPRC 2011)". Conference aimed at highlighting the research activities focused on the Bologna Process as well as the efforts to define the national educational policy that can support the implementation of specific tools of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA). The event brought together researchers closely related to higher education, personalities from academia, students and policy makers directly involved in research related to Bologna Process or interested in the history and evolution of the process itself. Conference was addressed to all those involved in creating the European Higher Education Area and interested in scale structural projects in Romania, which is developing the national framework for implementation of Bologna reforms. „Future of Higher Education - Bologna Process Researchers’ Conference” had two thematic sections. One section addressed the essential elements of the Bologna process (such as quality assurance, mobility or access to higher education) and the second section was dedicated to subjects closely related to strategic projects for higher education developed by UEFISCDI (governance, financing and diversification in higher education). In the second section, Prof. Dr. Adrian Curaj, UEFISCDI general manager and project coordinator for "Quality and Leadership for Romanian Higher Education" presented the main achievements of the project. The "Quality and Leadership for Romanian Higher Education" is one of the five strategic projects for higher education conducted by NURC, CNFIS and UEFISCDI and funded by the European Social Fund Operational Program Human Resources Development.
